Nostalgia
UOW has come along way? The University began as a division of the former New South Wales University of Technology in 1951, with 300 students. Ten years later the Division became the Wollongong College of the University of New South Wales. Then in 1975, the University of Wollongong was established. Today, the University is renowned internationally for teaching and research. With over 20,000 students from a diverse range of cultures, UOW now offers more than 30 degrees at multiple campuses and sites around the world.
UOW is proud of how it has grown and prospered over the past 50 years. It salutes the dedication and talent of its staff and students and the support of its community.
