The Sydney Interest Group hosts four dinner events each year for the 1967-68 Wollongong Teachers College alumni cohort. Functions are held in the Central Sydney area and include a regular rock trivia quiz based on music from the era of the Teachers College.

The Group raises funds for an annual prize for outstanding achievement by a Masters student in Educational Leadership. The award is presented at the Australian Centre for Educational Leadership Conference each February at the University of Wollongong and acknowledged at the Faculty of Education Awards Ceremony.
