UOW Receives $75,000 for Prostate Cancer Research
UOW PhD student, Nick Hardcastle has been awarded a scholarship worth $75,000 for his work on prostate cancer treatments. He is currently investigating how new imaging devices can improve the precision of radiation therapy. Full story
UOW Alumnus Elected as First Female Deputy Chancellor
Ms Sue Chapman has been appointed to the University of Wollongong Council as Deputy Chancellor. Ms Chapman is the Chief Executive and Managing Director of NATA Certification Services International and graduated from UOW with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and a Master of Business Administration. Free Public Lecture: 'How NOT To Write a Best Seller'

Alumni Bookshop Extends Opening Hours
The Alumni Bookshop has extended its opening hours. You can now visit the Bookshop on Thursdays, as well as Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Bookshop is located on Northfields Avenue, directly opposite the UniCentre entrance. All proceeds from book sales go towards scholarships and prizes for current UOW students. More Information
Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP)
Applications for the spring intake of the GDLP are now open. The GDLP is now more focused and practical, having both academic and industry relevance for professionals in the legal industry. The key features of the program include; delivery via distance education (off campus) with on-campus support, credit structure opportunities and qualification benefits. More Information

Edonline@uow is a new online distance education initiative of the Faculty of Education to provide students with 100% online access to UOW postgraduate education degrees. Students can complete a UOW Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters qualification and have the opportunity to interact with students from within Australia and around the world.
