Information for Students

Career Ahead can help give you the edge in the competitive job market. You will receive valuable advice on preparing a job application and practical interview skills to help you secure your dream job.

You will be mentored by experienced alumni professionals from the public and private sectors in a mock interview environment.

Visit the Careers Service website for tips on how to address selection criteria and writing the perfect covering letter and resume.

How to Apply

To participate in Career Ahead you will need to apply online for a mock graduate position at Smith and Thomas Commercial. Your aim is to be shortlisted for an interview. Limited places available.

Your application must include a covering letter, resume and separate document addressing how you meet each criteria. Click here for the application process.

Mock graduate positions are available for:

Graduate Marketing Coordinators
Graduate Management Consultants
Graduate Business Analysts
Graduate Accountants

Application closing date extended. You must APPLY ONLINE by Tuesday 21 August.

If you are not shortlisted for an interview you will receive support to help improve your job application skills from the Careers Service.

All students will be provided with constructive and informative feedback on their application and interview skills.

Student Commitment

To be eligible to participate in Career Ahead you need to:

• Be in your second or third year of your Bachelor of Commerce degree

• Be available for an interview on Friday 28 September between 9am and 5pm. An interview time will be confirmed if you are shortlisted

• Visit the Careers Service website for tips on writing your job application and preparing for an interview

• Complete a program evaluation form after your interview
