Career Ahead - Speed Interviewing

Career Ahead Speed Interviewing is a mock interview program designed to provide final year UOW students with the opportunity to improve their interview skills away from the intimidating environment of a panel based interview. The mock interview program gives students the opportunity to be interviewed by our successful UOW alumni and receive constructive face to face feedback.
Alumni are integral to the success of the program as they act as our interviewers. Alumni contribution ensures students enter the rigorous interviews ahead of them with the confidence to succeed.

What is Speed Interviewing?
Speed interviewing is a method of recruitment that a number of firms use, particularly in the US, as a way of interviewing large numbers of potential candidates for positions within a variety of organisations. It is similar in nature to a speed networking format.
For this program UOW alumni (graduates) act as the interviewers. Students will have a limited amount of time with each interviewer. Studentsl move around to each alumnus, answer the question they are asked, and then will receive immediate feedback on their performance.
Alumni give students tips on how to respond to these types of questions in a real interview situation, before students move on to the next interviewer and a different question.
Students will meet with eight alumni in their session, being asked eight questions in total.
