How to Obtain a Travel Concession Pass

Full time domestic students are eligible for a rail and bus concession sticker to be added to their student card. This allows travel at a concession rate on City Rail and local bus services. For information relating to concession eligibility, please contact Student Central on (02) 4221 3927 or go to the NSW Transport and Infrastructure website at http://transport.nsw.gov.au/concessions

New Students

In the first year a concession logo is printed on your Student ID card automatically if you are a full-time domestic student. It appears as a logo near the middle of the card with numbers identifying the current year.  If you have any questions contact Student Central in Building 17.

Re-Enrolling Students

Eligible students can take their Student ID card to Student Central in Building 17 to receive a CityRail concession sticker for the coming year.  Concession stickers are valid from start of session in the current year until the start of session the following year and incorporate both bus and rail travel.

Rural/Regional Students

Students under the age of 30 and deemed to fall under Rural or Regional areas may be entitled to an Omnibus Fare Concessions. Students will need to collect a NSW TI Form 320 (Omnibus Concession Fare Certificate) from Student Central which should then be taken to the local bus provider.

Students will need to provide evidence to the local bus provider that they are not receiving an income or remuneration, and the timetable of their contact hours at university.

For more information regarding Omnibus Concession Certificates please visit:

Part-Time and International Students

Unfortunately the NSW State Government only provides travel concessions to Australian full-time students.  Apologies that we have been unable to change this.
