Advice from the Disability Liaison Officer

Refer your students to the DLO if they have a disability, also to make sure that any of your students with disabilities are receiving proper attention. There are a range of services on offer to current students by the Disability Liaison Officer at UOW, some examples are: alternative arrangements for examinations, access to medication, time extensions, special consideration due to educational disadvantage etc.

You should contact the Disability Liaison Officer if you have a student/s with a disability if you are unsure of procedures while setting assessment tasks.

Available to: All students with a disability who are currently studying at UOW.

Writing and mobility aids, assistive technologies, Braille and other assistance

Use the assistance to refer your students to if they have a disability, also to make sure that any of your students with disabilities are receiving proper support.

There are a range of aids, programs and services are available for students with a disability studying at UOW, for example: note-takers, Braille, scooter hire, arrangement of Library support, help for the hearing impaired etc. Training is offered where required.

The Library's Access Room provides special equipment and a study space for students with a disability

Available to: All students with a disability who are registered with the Disability Liaison Officer at UOW.

Library services for clients with disabilities

This service is used by students or staff members with a disability. You can request assistance with catalogue searching, collection of material, photocopying and database searching.

The UOW Library features personal assistance and provides wheelchair access to all areas for clients with a disability.

Available to: Any student or staff member registered with the Disability Liaison Officer. To request assistance please fill out: Request for Assistance form.
