The Calendar of Religious Observance consists of a list of important dates for the major religions represented at the University of Wollongong. This calendar is provided to assist academic staff in scheduling assessment dates.
Calendar of Religious Observance
In particular, staff may find this calendar of use when planning ahead, so that religious observance dates do not conflict with exam dates, and to assist in appraising special consideration applications. The University of Wollongong acknowledges the kind assistance of the University of Melbourne in the reproduction of the text for this document.
Please note: This interfaith calendar has been based upon the current western calendar. There may be variations on the timing of certain festivals which operate under different calendars (for example: the Christian festival of Easter, the Jewish Passover, and the Islamic Ramadan, all rely in part on the phase of the moon for their timing. All such festivals will occur on a different calendar date each year).
