What's New

Critical Discussions about Social Inclusion Forum:

On June 10, UOW is hosting the AALL-sponsored Critical Discussions about Social Inclusion Forum to provide an opportunity for academic and professional staff to critically reflect on the debates, stories, practices and policy surround the ‘new’ social inclusion agenda in higher education. This free Forum will bring together key thinkers in higher education, including Professor Simon Marginson and Professor Alison Lee, to critically reflect on aspects of the inclusivity agenda.

Academic Transition Support Benchmarking Project:

A report on a trial benchmarking project between the University of Tasmania and UOW has been released. The project examined how each institution performed in the provision of academic transition support to first year undergraduate students in 2008. The focus was on those programs and services which help students make the transition to university life and succeed in their first year of study. The project identified ten priority areas for improvement and a First Year Experience Working Party has been established to implement and review the suggested improvements.
