Incident or Crime Reporting

Incidents and crime must be reported to the Security Service. If incidents or crimes are not reported the Service cannot maintain an effective presence in the prevention of incidents or crime on University property.

It is important that crime reported to Police is also reported to the Security Service. The Police Assistance Line is an effective way of reporting crime to Police. You will be provided with an event number that you should provide to the Security Service so that the Service, when liaising with Police, can effectively monitor new events.

Incidents may not necessarily involve a crime or it may not be immediately apparent that a crime has occurred on some occasions. The reporting of suspicious persons or activity to the Security Service is an important and effective means of helping the Service to prevent crime.

The Police Assistance Line number is 131 444, or use any Security Telephone and dial #8.
