4 Notice Provisions

  • 1. If quotas are to be imposed students must have adequate notice of at least one session. The notice must be sufficient to enable students to arrange their course plans to fulfil requirements for majors, core and/or options.
  • 2. Notification should be by calendar entry or failing this by November for enrolment information relating to the following academic year (or at the start of Autumn session for Spring session).
  • 3. Quotas must be approved by Deans.

5 Criteria Guidelines

  • 1. Criteria for entry to subjects with quotas must take account of:
        • a. a student's need to complete majors and core requirements
        • b. any special needs relating to disability or membership of another DEEWR defined equity category.
  • 2. There must be acceptable reasons for imposing quotas, for example, in a laboratory based subject a quota would be based on the maximum number of laboratory spaces.
