Information for Staff 2009
Alternatives to Driving/Parking:
Staff should consider using public transport before driving a car to campus, such as:
- Park and Ride to the nearest Railway Station, catch a train to North Wollongong and catch the FREE shuttle bus to Wollongong Campus.
- NEW FREE Wollongong CBD Shuttle Bus. The State Government has announced a new service to start in early 2009 linking UOW to a number of locations around Wollongong CBD. Buses will travel in both directions around the following route:
- Main Campus
- TAFE
- North Wollongong Station/International House
- Weerona College
- Wollongong Hospital
- Wollongong Station
- Central Business District
- North Wollongong Beach
- Innovation Campus
- Campus East
- Main Campus
It will run 7.00am to 10.00pm weekdays and 8.00am to 6.00pm on weekends. Weekday services will operate every 10 minutes in the morning and afternoon peaks, and every 20 minutes in the middle of the day and evenings. Weekend services will operate every 30 minutes.
When implemented, this service will, most likely, replace the UOW campus shuttle buses. There will be further publicity announcing the start of this new service, or check with http://www.uow.edu.au/about/transport/
