Stolen, Forged and Lost Permits
Stolen, Forged and Lost Permits
If an entry permit is stolen or lost it must be reported to the Police Assistance Line to obtain a Police event number. A report can then be lodged with Security. Security staff will endorse the report so that a replacement permit from Personnel & Financial Services Division can be obtained.
Complete the 'Replacement Entry Permit Form' (B&G-PAR-FRM-012) from the Buildings & Grounds Intranet Website: https://intranet.uow.edu.au/buildingsgrounds/forms/index.html. A replacement fee applies.
Possession of and use of any stolen or lost permit is a criminal offence. The manufacture or use of a forged or altered permit is a criminal offence. Where an Authorised Person detects the commission of a criminal offence in these circumstances an Authorised Person may conduct an investigation and call upon assistance from Police. The Authorised Person may use their discretion in issuing a fine for the offence that a valid permit is not displayed upon the vehicle. This may also result in internal disciplinary procedures and the calling of Police to pursue criminal charges.
Permit Placement
Reserved, UOW and Motorcycle permit holders are required to display their permit on the driver’s side of the windscreen (fixed on the motorcycle). Permits must not be placed behind tinted areas of the windscreen where it is difficult for it to be seen or be read. Permits displayed in parts of the windscreen where they cannot be read may incur a fine, as Parking Enforcement Officers may not be able to check its validity.
Tickets from ticket machines must be displayed on the dashboard with the correct side up. The incorrect display of the ticket may result in the issue of a fine.
