I am a student and wanted to reserve a Red entry permit. What has changed?
With the success of the Western Carpark changes introduced in July 2005, parking conditions and rules for 2006 have changed. Red and Yellow permits no longer exist. Permit parking has proved to be ineffective in getting the best use of parking space across Campus. In addition, unfair conditions were created through the highly competitive process to obtain a permit. Ticket parking has been introduced to provide all students with the opportunity to park on Campus and to ensure that through the whole year parking space on Campus is accessible.
Students electing to drive to Campus must use the ticket parking areas in the UniCentre, Ovals, Western and South-Western Carparks or go to the Parking Station.
In addition, 1P parking bays are located in the Ovals Carpark and available between 8.30am to 6.30pm, and 2P bays are available from 4.00pm to 6.30pm in the Northern Carpark.
Entry permits are only available to staff.
Ensure you check the signs carefully when parking as new parking conditions apply to ticket bays and UOW Permit bays. Don't get caught parked in the wrong bay. Penalty notices in excess of $75 are issued for infringements. The Infringement Processing Bureau process all penalty notices.
I have a reserved parking spot and I want to give access to a visitor. Where can I park?
A reserved parking space is assigned to you. If you park elsewhere other than your reserved spot, you must pay. You can use the Short-term Parking Station or 1 hour parking but you must pay the applied casual parking rates. You are not entitled to park in a UOW carpark. If you do, your vehicle may be issued with a penalty notice.
