Clubs and Societies Day on the Duck Pond Lawn 

WHERE

Duck Pond Lawn and Uni Bar, From 10.30 into the late afternoon

 WHAT

Come and experience what a large number of different University Clubs and Societies have to offer. The Duck Pond Lawn will be a hive of activity with many clubs and societies represented through activities, games and information booths.
Both the Duck Pond and Uni Bar stage will have people performing from 10am to approximately 3pm in the afternoon. Performances include: Persian Culture Performance at 12pm, Guest speaker Keyser Trad "Islamic and Australian Values at 12.30, a Didgeridoo Performance at 1pm, Acoustic Performers at 1.30 and various Japanese performances from 2.30pm
A free BBQ will be available to all attendees providing a vegetarian option and HALAL sausages. 



Japanese Matsuri  

WHERE

Duck Pond Lawn, All day as part of the Clubs and Societies Day with many performances in the afternoon

 WHAT

Come along and participate in a Japanese Matusri festival. The Matsuri will include Japanese food, games, activities and performances. It promises to be a fantastic event so don't miss out! 

 

Persian Culture Society Activities

WHERE

Duck Pond Lawn, All day as part of the Clubs and Societies Day

 WHAT

As part of International Week the Persian Culture Society will be offering students and staff the opportunity to experience a slice of Persian culture. Their activities will include: free samples of Ranginak (a sweet Iranian small cake), a Persian music performance on the Duck Pond Lawn Stage at 12pm, displays of beautiful photos and posters of Iran and Iranian artefacts and other traditional things.



Sydney Film Festival Temple of Dreams Free Movie Screening  

WHERE

McKinnon Building (67) Lecture Theatre 107 screening starting at 6pm 

WHAT

Temple of Dreams was a highly successful film screened in the recent Sydney Film Festival. It played to a packed State Theatre in June and warranted an Additional Screening.
Student Prices at the Sydney Film Festival are around $11.50 per screening, we're screening the movie for everyone to enjoy for FREE!
The film is about Young Australian Muslims with Attitude, subverting what you thought you knew ...

CSD Great Amazing Race  

WHERE

Race Brief Begins at the UniBar Steps at 11.45am 

WHAT

The CSD Amazing Race is an adventure race with a difference; it is based on skill not necessarily speed.
Your team will decipher clues that will direct the team to a series of activities around the campus. In the Amazing Race you team will attempt to successfully complete four types of activities; 1 - Continent Challenges; 2 - Continent Trivia; 3 - Campus Quirks; 4 - Race Handicaps.
At the end of the Race come and join the Clubs and Societies Day events where the BBQ will continue to be available.


Science Faculty International Lunch  

WHERE

Building 41 Foyer (near the rocks display) at 12.30pm

Come and Enjoy a relaxed lunch and meet International Students, Australian Students and Staff.
The Lunch will feature a welcome to International Students, Food from a range of cultures and drinks provided.


LINKING WOMEN: Women of the World  

WHERE

20.5, 12.30 - 1.30pm 

WHAT

Come along and hear the personal stories of two of our women who have been lured from their home countries to live in Australia and work for the University of Wollongong.
Irina Verenikina from the Faculty of Education and Jinqi Xu from Student Central will share their stories which will leave you with a greater appreciation for the rich cultural diversity of our staff.
Bring your lunch - Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. 

 

Study Abroad & Exchange Information Session - USA

Study Abroad and Exchange Office will be running an Information Session for students interested in International Exchange to the USA.
Information will be given and returned UOW exchange students and students from overseas currently studying at UOW will share their tips and experiences.


Theatre Society Performance Skin for Skin

Torture is a dance and death is a game in Skin For Skin - a complelling new performance piece written, directed and performed by students from the Faculty of Creative Arts.
Skin For Skin conceptualises the innate brutality and mobid morality of human nature and the corruption of the human condition that comes with positions of power. Language means both nothing and everything as the audience is inspired to feel, think, reflect and act. Includes explicit Language, strong themes... and skin.
