National Tree Day 2011

National Tree Day aims to inspire, educate and recruit Australians to actively care for our unique land and create future generations of committed environmental custodians.  As part of National Tree Day, ESI have opportunities for you to participate in tree planting at UOW and the UOW Campus Tree Tour.

 

National Tree Day - Tree Planting

Come and help plant trees on the Wollongong Campus for National Tree Day!

When: Friday 29th July 2011
Time:  From 12 noon
R.S.V.P:  By Noon Tuesday 26th July 2011. Email: environment_team@uow.edu.au
Attire: Long pants, closed in shoes, gloves, sunscreen, hat and water. BYO Lunch and enjoy a picnic after the planting. 
Details on location of tree planting activities will be provided with acknowledgement of RSVP.

 

National Tree Day Campus Tour

This tour is for those who wish to learn more about what the campus was like in the early days, how the landscape on campus has evolved to what it is today and how to identify and understand more about some of the trees that make up the Wollongong Campus - Campus Tree Walk.  Brochures will be provided and you will have a personal tour guide on the day. Grab a coffee and come on the one hour tour and learn about over 39 species of trees.

When: Tuesday 2nd August 2011
Time: 10 am to 11am

Tours are limited to 20 people so RSVP early to ensure your place.
