sustainAbility: UOW's Green Office program
On Tuesday, 5th June 2012 Vice-Chancellor Paul Wellings, launched sustainAbility, UOW's Green Office program. The 'green office' program is the Environemntal and Sustainability Initiatives Unit's flagship project for the next 18 months. It is a behaviour change program aimed at improving the sustainAbility of our workplace-related actions and reducing our impact on the environment. Various universities (and other corporate organisations) nationally and internationally are also promoting environmental and sustainability initiatives to their staff and students through a wholistic program such as this. The program links existing activities and initiatives together, yet expands on these to empower staff and students to behave more sustainably at work (and at home).
Every two months UOW will focus on different topics which will be promoted to staff, raising their awareness of the issues and encouraging improved behaviour. A toolkit is provided for each topic area with suggested activities and associated campaign material.

Months | Topic Area |
| June - July | Energy |
| August - September | Water |
| October - November | Waste |
| December | Energy (Green IT) |
