Our Purpose
The Environmental & Sustainable Initiatives Unit or “ESI” team has been established to make your sustainability efforts on campus just that...ESI!
As well as a cultural shift toward environmental sustainability, the environmental initiatives of the team involve sustained water, energy and emissions reduction and improved waste management.
The University of Wollongong’s commitment to environmental sustainability is outlined in the 2008-2010 University of Wollongong (UOW) Strategic Plan.
This plan identifies ‘Environmental Impact’ as one of the thirteen key performance indicators, with the ‘Promotion of responsible environmental management across all UOW locations’ as one of the strategic priorities.
