Energy Audit Report

An audit of energy use was conducted for the Wollongong Campus in 2007 and results of the audit were used to develop the Energy Savings Action Plan (ESAP).

Energy Savings Action Plan (ESAP)

The Energy Saving Action Plan (ESAP) has been developed to ensure the efficient operation of buildings across the Campus.  This ESAP has been approved by the NSW Government’s Department of Environment and Climate Change.  The ESAP is being implemented from 2007 to 2011.

The ESAP identified a number of energy savings initiatives. The ‘Initiatives in Action’ page provides a summary of those which have either been fully implemented or are currently in progress, as well as some significant past achievements.

Renewable and Alternative Energy Plan

University of Wollongong (UOW) engaged HATCH Consulting to investigate and prepare a Renewable and Alternative Energy Plan for the main Wollongong campus.  The Plan provides actions to work towards self-sufficiency in energy and to become carbon neutral, recognising limitations of cost and availability of renewable resources in the current energy market.
