Coffee for a Cause...helping the environment through the distribution of Keep Cups:

Keep Cup's are made from a safe food grade plastic that is recyclable at the end of it's life. They are sealable, lightweight and even microwave and dishwasher safe.

Disposable coffee cups are a large environmental issue at UOW with over 3000 cups consumed per week. Coffee cups are not recyclable meaning they contribute to the waste stream and at UOW, coffee cups alone in weight made up 8% of the total waste collected in a recent audit.

As a way to reward and target the serious coffee drinkers at UOW, the Environmental & Sustainability Initiatives team are giving 150 participants in Coffee Week their own Keep Cup.

They are urging those using take-away cups to Turn Over a New Leaf….refill, and make it one less cup.

Think about how many cups on average you have per week….5? Think about that over the period of only 1 month - 30!! Just one a day means you are throwing away nearly 300 cups per year.

You can immediately not just reduce, but eliminate your take-away cup waste by using the Keep Cup. That's certainly worth Turning Over a New Leaf for.
