Give a Gift that Counts!

Make a real difference and surprise friends or colleagues with an invaluable gift chosen by you!

By donating to UOW Cares, you receive the benefit of an immediate tax deduction and most importantly, 100% of your gift will go to the charity of your choice.

Your gift of $10 or above can go to the UOW Cares charity of your choice –
RSPCA, Fred Hollows Foundation, Indigo Foundation, Autism Spectrum, Para Meadows School, Oxfam Australia, The Smith Family, NSW Cancer Council, Australian Conservation Foundation and UOW Equity Fund.

• Microchip, de-flea and provide cover note insurance for a puppy – RSPCA.

• Enable four new cancer patients to receive Support and Information Packs providing them with important information to help them cope with their illness – NSW Cancer Council.

• Buy an educational toy to help a child with autism at Aspect South Coast School learn while they play – Aspect South Coast School.

• Help provide one Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child with fresh fruit, bread, milk, juice and muesli for a month, and help increase their attendance and concentration at school – Oxfam Australia.

• Help protect our unique environment by funding ACF's campaign to persuade local, state and national governments to cut carbon pollution and invest in clean renewable energy. – Australian Conservation Foundation.

• Help a disadvantaged student remain studying at UOW – UOW Equity Fund.

• Help The Fred Hollows Foundation continue its life changing work in over 18 countries worldwide– The Fred Hollows Foundation.

• Buy a communication tool for children at Para Meadows School – Para Meadows School.

• Support the education and learning of a disadvantaged Australian child for a month – the Smith Family.

• Help provide effective health and education assistance to improve the lives of people in marginalised communities in Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Solomon Islands, Congo, Thailand, and Uganda – Indigo Foundation.

How can I participate?

 

UOW Staff	Online via web kiosk. Instructions for setting up a one-off payment through Web Kiosk: Logon to Web Kiosk. Click on “Payroll Details” and then “Deductions” on the left hand menu of Web Kiosk. Click on “Add New Deduction Record.” On the deduction screen enter the following: Deduction – this is a drop down menu – choose UOWCC; Pay rate Type – stays as A for amount; Deduction Amount – Enter the one off amount you are deducting for this pay; Expires After Total Amount – You must enter the same amount as the deduction amount above. This ensures the deduction amount is only made for one pay period; START DATE – Enter todays date; END DATE – DO NOT ENTER ANYTHING HERE – LEAVE BLANK; JOB NUMBER – This is your current job, you do not change; Click on INSERT; The above amount will be deducted for one pay period as a one off deduction.
ITC Staff	Download a form and return to payroll.
Unicentre Staff	Please contact Payroll Officer.
URAC Staff	Download a form and return to payroll.
Casual Staff	Download a form and return to Office of Community and Partnerships, Building 36, Lower Ground Floor.

You will receive a UOW Cares gift card to give in lieu of your gift. To receive your gift card, e-mail community@uow.edu.au. Please include details of your gift, including amount and chosen charity. Your gift card/s will be sent to you through internal mail.

You can also make a one-off donation to the other UOW Cares' causes and charities and become a regular donor through workplace giving.
