Programs
Research Residents' Network -
- Higher degree research (HDR) students [those enrolled in PhD or Masters by Research programs] are invited to join Campus East's Research Residents' Network. This group meets on a regular basis for mutual support and encouragement or to discuss issues faced by HDR students during the course of their programs.
- HDR students range from those just commencing their candidature to others who are close to submitting or have their theses currently under examination. As such the network is a valuable source of advice across disciplines and the research journey.
- Students may review or rehearse upcoming conference presentations.
- From 2009 the Network will hold a dinner each session with a guest speaker from one of the members' research areas.
Postgraduate Activities -
- Residents living in designated postgraduate areas are invited to join a wide range of social, sporting, cultural and personal development activities specifically targeted to their needs.
- Postgraduate students are currently forming a "Postgraduate Students' Club" which is expected to be operational from Session 1, 2009.
- Campus East also holds a number of activities each year including a Postgraduate "Formal Dinner".
Postgraduate Resources -
- Campus East holds a collection of resources which are specifically targeted at postgraduate (research and coursework) students. This information covers scholarships, how to create a research proposal, research methodology, study skills, etc. Students are most welcome to borrow these materials or add to the collection.
- Our staff have worked with many postgraduate students over the years and are, in times of need, able to provide appropriate referrals to other university units, for example, Research Students' Centre, the Library, Student Services, Student Equity Diversity & Liaison Officers (SEDLOs), and the Dean of Students' Office.
