Australian Society for the Study of Labour History

The Illawarra Branch of the Australian Society for the Study of Labour History was formed in 1996. Its focus is on the history of the labour movement in the Illawarra district of New South Wales, Australia, though it also addresses broader issues. The society's journal Illawarra Unity was compiled under the general editorship of Professor Ray Markey, Department of Economics, University of Wollongong, during the period 1996-2004. Eleven volumes were issued. The current editorial collective is headed by Dr. Anthony Ashbolt, Department of History and Politics, University of Wollongong.
